Here is the hip-length version that I stitched up to test the pattern. I made a size 12 for my son – and the fit is great!
I followed the pattern exactly, except for the addition of a hood lining.
The side pockets are completed with ZIPPERS! This was a first for me to do this style of welt pocket. The tutorial walked me through each step with great drawings. While I still need more practice with zippers, I found this jacket pattern to be easy to put together. And I also like the opportunity to work on new skills.
(if you look really close, can you see my big blunder on the pocket zippers? I didn’t even notice until my son pointed it out during the photo shoot… ooops! bad sewist)
The fabric is black knit interlock on the sleeves and hood, and camo sweat knit fabric in the center. All from Joann’s fabric store.
And… did you notice the good looking pants on my son? Yes, those are the Lazy Days Lounge Pants from the Gracious Threads pattern. Go see all the lounge pants I made from this pattern HERE and HERE (and there are still 3 more pair that I haven’t shared yet… I REALLY like this pattern).
