[Whimsical Fabric Wacky Wednesday Bundle}

Yes, it’s time to start thinking about Fall, and that means Halloween.  This week’s Wacky Wednesday Bundle at Whimsical Fabric will get you in the spirit for Halloween Magic.

This week’s bundle is Halloween Magic from Riley Blake stitched up in the Oliver + S Pinwheel Dress.  (offered HERE)  For my almost-7-year -old daughter this is a fun combo.  The pattern offers a slip dress and a tunic.  I made both so we have some layering options.

I love the swinging skirts that tuck up in the front.  And the bias trim detail – I am a sucker for anytime I can make my own bias trim.  In my world, the more fabric combos you can use the better!  Bias trim is another fabric to use, so YAY!

This is why I LOVE the bundle deals on Wednesdays… a perfect fabric combo!

The Wacky Wednesday Deal is offered at 12 noon central on the Whimsical Fabric & me Facebook group.  It is only offered until it sells out which is usually in the first 24 hours.  This bundle includes the 5 fabric prints, and you can buy a Full Yard bundle (5 total yards) or a Half Yard bundle (2.45 total yards).  Of course, multiple bundles will be cut in continuous yardage.

And while you at Whimsical Fabric & me Facebook group, look around, make some friends, and find so much inspiration.

Happy Wednesday!  And an early Happy Halloween, I hope yours is full of Halloween Magic.

Summer Tops for Girls & Boys

{Traveller Tee & Seashore Top by Gracious Threads}

After sewing up kids’ shorts on the Canadian Pattern Designer Blog Tour (see HERE), the girl & boy needed summer tops to match the summer shorts.  I went looking for patterns by a Canadian Designer to stick with the theme (i love to be inspired by a theme), patterns that were casual and comfy for frequent summertime wearing, and patterns that were new to me.  The Gracious Threads patterns fit the qualifications!  It was the Traveller Tee for the boy, and the Seashore Top for the girl!

Children’s Pants from EM Patterns

{a Canadian Pattern Designer Blog Tour}

It’s warm weather here and kids need shorts.  I used the Canadian Pattern Designer Blog Tour as an opportunity to stitch up some new shorts.  These are the Children’s Pants No. 2 (cut off into shorts) from E+M Patterns.  One pair is for my 5 year old daughter, and the other pair for her 7 year old friend.  This way, I could make shorts for a girl and for a boy using the same pattern just by changing up the pockets.
